My Soul's Song

It never gets old

This song of my soul;

I’ve tried to delete it

Just to keep from repeating it;

But it persists

When I resist;

So I don’t think I’ll take the risk

Of being without it;

It offers ease

As it please;

I believe it knows what I need

So I shall proceed;

Through the hurt and the constant pain

My soul sings tirelessly thru the rain;

So why complain?

The chaotic noise that disturbs me

Isn’t as focused on my destiny;

But the song sings thru

The song knows the rules;

The song stings to my core

The song loves me more.

My heart and my song

Together they belong;

The marriage can’t be denied

Believe me I tried;

But the song knows the best of me

The refuses to release me;

The song is the reason I can even be

Don’t sing your song to loud, you see

I must hear the song that’s sang for me.
